Meeting With The Raven

I have never been confident about speaking about my spirit animals. But for a while ago I met a raven which I feel I can talk about. I first met him when I was waiting on the bus early one morning. I first noticed that he didn’t fly away when I came to close but stayed, confident like a dove. I walked to the station and sat there a while. Then I saw that same raven again walking towards me. When he was about 40 cm from me he stopped and looked at me. He just looked at me, and then I heard in my mind how he spoke to me saying; Good morning, how are you? I answered with my thoughts and said fine, little tired but ok. The raven answered; Ok, well im hungry, im going to look for food. And it walked away..

I have never before got that connection to a live animal, so I thought it was really cool.  A couple of nights later I had a lucid dream about walking on a road in a forest. The raven was flying next to me and protected me from other spiritual beings. I met other animals passing by, and also other humans with their spirit animal. I remember specifically one girl I met which was walking with a fox and a falcon. We talked for a while and took a swim in a beautiful lake before I woke up.

In my lucid dreams the landscape are always very beautiful, I see rainbows, stars, rivers and deep old forests. And I wish that the world would go back to this, to the time before the big cities and exploited forests. But that’s another story.

Anyway, later on I made a journey to meet the raven and asked for his name. Old Angus Kane he replied, I’m your guide, your eye in the spirit world. I am magic, your teacher of will. I don’t really understand yet what he ment with this. But then, time is a very good friend.

In the latest experience, via meditation, to lucid dream, I met him again for short while. I gave him food, and he gave me a feather in return.

Every experience with this raven connects me more with it. But not always do I understand him. I guess I will learn with time.

Symbolic Meaning of The Raven

In Native American lores the raven is a creature of metamorphosis and symbolize transformation/change. In some tribes it is a trickster because of it’s transformation attributes.

Often honored among medicine & holy men of tribes for its shape-shifting qualities, the Raven was called upon in ritual so that visions could be clarified.  Native holy men understood that what the physical eye sees, is not necessarily the truth, and he would call upon the raven for clarity in these matters.

Foremost, the Raven is the Native American bearer of magic, and a harbinger of messages from the cosmos.  Messages that are beyond space and time are nestled in the midnight wings of the Raven and come to only those within the tribe who are worthy of the knowledge.

When I looked up the symbolic meaning of the raven I understood a lot more. But now it’s time to seek more answers from Old Angus Kane.

Nick

First off I want to say that the medicine wheel is a part of many different cultures which makes it hard to tell that “this is how it works”. In this post I write about the Native American Medicine Wheel only.

The medicine wheel is a symbol for the wheel of life and are representative in Native American spirituality. The medicine wheel teaches us that all lessons are equal, as are all talents and abilities. Every living creature will one day see and experience each spoke of the wheel, and know those truths. It is a pathway to truth, peace and harmony. The circle is never-ending, life without end. The Medicine Wheel symbolizes the individual journey we each must take to find our own path. The wheel or circle represents the circle of life and the center of the circle represents the eternal fire. The medicine wheel is sacred and the native americans believe so,  because the Great Spirit caused everything in nature to be round. The Sun, Sky, Earth and Moon are round. There are four cardinal directions and four sacred colors in the Medicine Wheel.

  • East is red and represents success, triumph
  • North is blue and represents defeat, trouble
  • West is black and represents death
  • South is white and represents peace, happiness.

The sacred directions is:

  • Up above and the color is yellow
  • Down Below with the color brown
  • Here in the Center and the color is green

The medicine wheel is also connected to the year and the four seasons. East is spring, North is winter, South is summer and West is autumn.

O Great Spirit of the East,
radiance of the rising Sun,
spirit of new beginnings
O Grandfather Fire,
great nuclear fire of the Sun.
From you comes life-energy,
vital spark, power to see far,
and to envision with boldness;
with you we can purify the senses,
our hearts and our minds.
We pray that we may be aligned with you,
so that your energies may flow through us,
and be expressed by us,
for the good of this planet Earth,
and all living beings upon it.

O Great Spirit of the South,
protector of the fruitful land,
and of all green and growing things,
the noble trees and grasses.
Grandmother Earth, Soul of Nature,
great power of the receptive,
of nurturance and endurance,
of bringing forth and growing,
flowers of the field,
fruits of the garden.
We pray that we may be aligned with you,
so that your powers may flow through us,
and be expressed by us,
for the good of this planet Earth,
and all living beings upon it.

O Great Spirit of the West,
spirit of the great waters,
of rain and rivers, lakes and springs;
O Grandmother Ocean,
deepest matrix, womb of all life.
With you comes the dissolving
of boundaries and holdings,
the power to taste and to feel,
to cleanse and to heal.
Great blissful darkness of peace.
WE pray that we may be aligned with you,
so that your powers may flow through us,
and be expressed by us,
for the good of this planet Earth,
and all living beings upon it.

O Great Spirit of the North,
invisible spirits of the air,
and of the fresh, cool winds;
O vast and boundless Grandfather Sky,
your living breath animates all life.
From you comes clarity and strength,
and the power to hear inner sounds,
to seep out old patterns,
and bring challenge and change.
The ecstasy of movement and the dance.
We pray that we may be aligned with you,
so that your powers may flow through us,
and be expressed by us,
for the good of this planet Earth,
and all living beings upon it.

Everywhere I look, searching on google, watching movies at YouTube, reading on different forums I always find something about 2012 and the end of this world. So what do we get of this? Some people are frighten by this thought that the world would end in 2012, some doesn’t believe it and some say that it is the end as we know it, a change not an actual Armageddon. Most of the time it is mentioned about the Mayan calendar and the ending of it in december 21, 2012. But there is more predictions about the end of the world than the Mayans. And I thought I would provide some of those Ideas. But because of the amount of information I will now write short about every prediction and search and go deeply into every one of these predictions.

So what predictions is there in different culture and religions of the world?

The Mayans

The Mayan calendar is a time-counting system created by the Mayans. The Mayan Empire was a culture that stretched from Central America from what is now Mexico to Guatemala, Belize, western Honduras and El Salvador. They were extremely good at astronomy and time counting.  And some of their calendars were based on astronomy, while others were based on spiritual faith and divine energies. The calendars are different time cycles within cycles, and together form a larger time plan. For example: The most prominent of these calendars were called Tzolkin. (Which means “counting days” on yucatecmaya language). It counts days in thirteen 20-day weeks. Today is this calendar used in Guatemala by the Quiché Mayans, which has preserved over 2500 years. Tzolkin were sometimes combined with another calendar named Haab. When combined you got a longer calendar with a round of 52 solar years. In that way you got a longer calendar wich some call the “long count”. It has become known that the “long count” calendar ends in December 21, 2012. And it was this calendar the Mayans used to follow the big events. It consists of 13 periods of 394.3 ordinary solar years. Archaeologists calculate that the long count began in August 11, 3114 BC. If we from counting until 13 calendar periods, as we reach the ending 2012 on 21 December.

Egyptian Orion Prophecy

It’s not that the Egyptians predicted the end of this world, but according to their writings, a global catastrophe occurred that nearly wiped out humanity. Just as the Mayans, the ancient Egyptians were master astronomers.  Watching and charting the skies for phenomena that would foretell impending events was important and accepted way of life. An astronomical sign appeared to the Egyptians in the year 9792B.C., that caused them great concern.  The celestial event was the retrograde motion of the planet Venus through the constellation Orion.  What is important to note is that there are only two dates when Venus will be in retrograde through Orion while the earth’s pole precession is the same; 9792B.C and 2012A.D.! Orion had incredible significance for the Egyptians in that Orion represented Osiris in the sky.  During 9792B.C. and with Venus in retrograde, an “event” occurred that caused “… the sun to rise at a new horizon.”  Disturbingly, the text goes on to say that “The sun moved from his wonted course, twice rising where it now sets and twice setting where it now rises.” , and “The Old Lion turned around.”

Hopi Indians

The Hopi prophecy is an oral tradition of stories that Hopi says to have predicted the coming of the white man, the world wars and nuclear weapons. And it predicts that time will end when humanity emerges into the “fifth world”. According to the Hopi mythology the current world we inhabit is the “Fourth World.” In this systems, time is cyclical, and the end of one world is the beginning of the next. For the Hopi, the end of the fourth world is marked by the arrival of Pahana, or the lost “White Brother.” from the stars.

Sumerian Tablets

It is very hard to translate the Sumerian language because of its extinction. But some of the text has been revealed and predicts a catastrophe in the year of 2012. So far, the much that has been derived from countless hours of anthropology and linguistic suggest that a planet that is beyond Pluto, called Nibiru will reach the solar system by 2012. The planet is only seen every 3600 years, which explains why there are not too many details about it. Simply put 3600 years is a very long, long time, and back when it made an appearance (if it did) not much was recorded, and thus not much is known. However, skeptics, and firm believers tend to accept the fate inscribed upon the Sumerian tablets depicting 2012 as the end of the world.

Bible Prophecy

The Bible is filled with prophetic statements about the end of this world, and perhaps the Book of Revelation is most know. It is mentioned about plagues, earthquakes hailstorms, fires, famine, meteor storm lack of drinking water and so on. The book of Daniel and Ezekiel contains many prophecies as well.  It all has to do with the battle between good and evil, the sides people pick and the ultimate fate of their choices.

Bible/Torah Code

Torah Codes are equally spaced letters forming meaningful words and phrases in the original Hebrew Bible, the Torah. The topic was discussed in the Middle Ages by leading Kabbalists. It was computerized in the late 1970’s by Professor Eliyahu Rips. The Torah Codes are clear that the end of the Mayan calendar in 2012 has some significance in regards to apocalyptic events. There is a large, stone-like comet or planet due to approach the Earth around 2012.

Planet X/Nibiru

Nibiru is the planet in the ancient Sumerian culture in which their Gods who they called Annunaki came from. The Sumerians knew of every planet in our solar system, they knew their colour, about their moons and they even mentioned that Mars had water wich is interesting because we are just now starting to discover this. Everything they knew they said was taught by the Annunaki. They say that Nibiru comes to our solar system every 3600 year due to its long elliptical orbit. Astronomers are today searching for this Planet X but are saying that they havent found it yet.

Nostradamus

Michael de Nostredame – known as Nostradamus was born on December 14, 1503 in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence in the south of France. He was an occultist that predicted many later world events which really happened. What Nostradamus predicted in the 16th century had actually become true as the years passed by. His predictions about the revolutions in Russia and France; the rise and fall of Adolf Hitler, the German politician and leader of the Nazi party; the pope’s attempted assassination; etc were exact when they happened. Nostradamus predicted that an enormous space collision will happen around the year 2000. If what is said about Nibiru or Planet X is true, then Nostradamus predictions would again be true. Nostradamus also predicted wide disasters and wars around the year 2000.

Edgar Cayce

Edgar Cayce “The Sleeping Prophet” lived from 1877 to 1945 and was an American Psychic. He predicted the polar shift and many other pieces of information about the Earth Changes that are coming with the date of December 21, 2012. He did not speak specifically about 2012, but rather his predictions were supposedly going to happen by the year 1998. His predictions were off and he had the timeline incorrect.

The Super Volcano

Some people speak of super volcanos and there are only a handful of these Super volcanoes. Super volcanic eruptions typically cause a long-lasting change to weather (such as the triggering of a small ice age) sufficient to threaten the extinction of species, and cover huge areas with lava and ash. How this relates to 2012, is the fact that not one super volcano has erupted in the past 74,000 years. Supporters of this theory say that we are long over due in terms of the cycle of these massive beasts. The underwater volcanoes are increasing exponentially. The harmonic tremors are also on a steep rise. A 74,000 year cycle of devastating super volcano nears as we approach 2012. The December 2004 Tsunami epicenter points towards a possible site for the super volcano. According to some geologists, it is possible that the recent Tsunami is precursor to a massive shift in tectonic plates and a super volcanic eruption in that area dwarfing what happened even 74,000 years back.

Scientists

The scientists are trying to calm down the mass hysteria about 2012, but in March 10th 2012 NASA warns about Solar Storms in 2012.

“It’s official: Solar minimum has arrived. Sunspots have all but vanished. Solar flares are nonexistent. The sun is utterly quiet. Like the quiet before a storm…

Solar physicist David Hathaway of the National Space Science & Technology Center (NSSTC) says to have confidence in the conveyor belt model and agrees with Dikpati that the next solar maximum should be a doozy. But he disagrees with one point. Dikpati’s forecast puts Solar Max at 2012.”

Similar storms back in 1859 and 1921 caused worldwide chaos, wiping out telegraph wires on a massive scale. The 2012 storm has the potential to be even more disruptive.

There is more predictions about the “doomsday” and perhaps I will write about it in the future. But for now I will only write about this different aspects about 2012. Dont forget that I will dive deeply into these subjects later on.
