From next sunday to monday (31st October to 1st November) it’s Samhain or Halloween for those who prefer that.

Samhain which means summers end is an ancient pagan festival celebrating the Celtic new year. It is also the Irish Gaelic word for the month November. It is a misconception that Samhain is pronounced Sam Hane and is the name of a Celtic God of death. Samhain is pronounced Sow-en and is the last of three harvest festivals which makes it extra special, cause it is the beginning of the cold, dark and dangerous days of winter. Any food which was not brought in from the fields by the last harvest was left on the fields and not eaten. It now belonged to the fairy folk, and eating it would make you sick. Samhain is still observed by Wiccans and other Pagans for its spiritual significance in the Wheel of the Year, the cycle of holidays that mark transition points in the natural solar cycle. It is a time when the veil between the worlds of the living and the dead are at its thinnest, a time for honouring the departed and seeing into the future.

When Christianity came they thought that it was a good idea to put the holiday where holidays already existed, and it was also an attempt to convert pagans and non-believers to Christianity. Many of the pagan traditions, such as Yule with decoration of the evergreen tree, traditions of spring equinox such as decorating eggs was adapted into Christianity with christmas and easter. The holiday of Samhain became All Hallows Eve and All Saints Day, now know as Halloween.

There are also several misconceptions and outright lies that are spread by religious fundamentalists about Samhain every year, in an attempt to get Halloween banned. One of them is that the holiday is of Druidic origin; the Druids were a priestly class of the Celts, but they were a very late manifestation of the Celtic religion. The Celts were practicing their religion for thousands of years before the priestly class of the Druids developed.

If you believe in spirits this is a great time to celebrate and cast some magick spells for love or protection. Otherwise it can be fun just to celebrate Halloween with its common spooky themes. I will honor the dead and well, what I do more is for the future to tell. I have not decided yet. But one thing is sure, I do believe in spirits and will celebrate them.

The Danger with Religions.

Now, I don’t claim that everybody that believes in a God or Gods is dangerous, I don’t either want to claim that all religions are bad. However I would like to claim that religion is dangerous in general because it creates;

Fundamentalism
I can honestly say that the concern with fundamentalism became a real problem for me for the first time when the 9/11 attacks were a fact. But Fundamentalism is not only linked to Islam (which I assume that everybody know about), but to christianity, and other religions and aswell Of course there is fundamentalism outside religion to, but not in such big scale.

But first my definition:Fundamentalism is the view that all content of a specific holy book should be taken literally and follow it’s fundamental principes. Secondly that the religious dogma is founded as a political agenda. ”

Everywhere in the world we can see fundamentalists stone homosexuals to death, doctors who perform abortions gets shot i USA by christian fundamentalists and so on. Some fundamentalists have a disparaging view on women, doomsday prophets advocate mass suicide, child are abused by priest and pastors in both the Lutheran, catholic and orthodox church. When a society or country is strongly religious, “the people” can be misled by propaganda campaigns that use distortions, misrepresentations, scare tactics, and outright lies. But if the Bible is “infallible, without error in all matters pertaining to faith and practice,” then why aren’t the self-righteous stoning people who wear clothing made of two different threads or work on the Sabbath?

Missionary
Missionaries has from the beginning done harm to the world. Starting when the Romans made it a state religion and spreading through the world with murders of non-believers and massacres of jews, shamans, pagans and other religious believers. The Natives in South and North America, the Vikings in Scandinavia and other parts of Europe brutally massacred by christians. And then the witch hunt in the Early Modern Europe and North America leading to between 40 000 – 100 000 executions. Also Muslim killed for religion for example the 1066 Granada massacre killing about 4000 jews.

Rejecting the Intellect
I can see an irrational, cultural conservatistic religiosity and science hostility gain influence in the society. The hatred against science, I believe has to do with that science not yet have been able to solve some of the main problems, such as pollution or the problem with HIV and AIDS. The worse disease in our time and the scientists are lost. I think that many people are disappointed on science when it don’t provide the needed solutions. I also believe that the atomic bomb and other weapons of mass destruction shows that science can be used in an evil way, which also contribute to the contempt towards science.

Religious Laws
Now based from the bible there is a few examples of laws that restrict our freedom. There are laws against abortion, the sale of any “intoxicating alcoholic liquor” on Sundays is prohibited by state law in Arkansas is one example of the ”Blue Law”. And there is fictional laws that different churches made up and biblical laws (which restricts people from doing what ever a free person can do) that must be followed to be a member such as no smoking, no drinking, don’t have sex before marriage, obey this and obey that. Were is the freedom?

Sects/Cults
And we can also see as a fact that big religions sometimes creates sects and cults such as Mormonism, children of god (the family), christian identity movement, the nation of Islam, U.P.C and so on. Despite the human and societal damage caused by cults, few organizations exist to help prevent or lessen the damage. Until very recently, governments worldwide have not created systematic programs to respond to the problem. The work has been done by non-profit organizations and by people working on individual bases, studying the cult phenomenon, counseling cult members and ex-members, prosecuting those guilty of cult-related crimes and abuses, and educating others on the dangers of cults.

There is danger in religion which must be avoided. I have only insight in christianity and Islam, but I could guess that there is parts of hinduism and buddhism and other religions that is a danger for the freedom of man. And I also want to add as I said at the top of this post that not every religious man, woman and child are dangerous or evil. This is only a part of the religion, but that is the problem. Religion gives room for fundamentalism, cults, death and a resistance against science.

I believe that every man and woman has a free will, has a brain to think. I believe that we have a moral compass within us. We don’t need a God to be moral, feel compassion, be polite and take care of our children. But that is something that certain religious people with no logical sense can’t admit. The problem begins with the Evil God and humanity’s ego. I believe that all religions should be personal. All religions have good parts, but it’s when the religion collects the masses and come together, when a few men can interpret and use the word of God and prophets to control the masses that creates this danger. Religion has to be personal.

Is the Abrahamic God really that good? And is Satan really that evil?

This is basically something I wrote because of some big discussion I had with friends and with people on different forums. And honestly, I am sick of all these missionaries that believe that they are right and that their view on the subject is the universal truth and everything else is evil and satanic. So now I will give some facts that shows my view about the biblical God directly from bible, and without any interpretation from a priest or someone who can distort the text to their benefit. This is only my conclusions of my experience and research with Abrahamic religions and I do not state this as a fact. I don’t either try to convince jews, christians and muslims that their view is wrong. I simply give you another view on the subject due to the fact that most of the religious people only have seen it in one way. It’s up to you to believe or not believe.

Now, many people believes that everything is black and white, good and evil, so I write from that point of view but this does not mean that I have that view on the subject. And in this case my conclusion is that God is Evil and Satan are Good. For me it doesn’t matter that Satan means something else such as adversary or accuser, because as one big mass (such as christianity and Islam is) can change the words literal meaning, twist and shout however they like, manipulate books and facts like they have done through the history.

Then why do I believe that God is evil?

First I want to define what I mean with evil; Evil is intentionally causing harm or destruction, or deliberately violating some moral code.

So first I will prove that God is Evil – directly from the bible. I will only put one verse in each category because I don’t want it to be to much to read. If you like more I can add it afterwards. I use the New International Version

Natural Disasters
God is the one who creates Natural Disasters.

“The LORD is a jealous and avenging God; the LORD takes vengeance and is filled with wrath. The LORD takes vengeance on his foes and maintains his wrath against his enemies. The LORD is slow to anger and great in power; the LORD will not leave the guilty unpunished. His way is in the whirlwind and the storm, and clouds are the dust of his feet. He rebukes the sea and dries it up; he makes all the rivers run dry. Bashan and Carmel wither and the blossoms of Lebanon fade. The mountains quake before him and the hills melt away. The earth trembles at his presence, the world and all who live in it. Who can withstand his indignation? Who can endure his fierce anger? His wrath is poured out like fire; the rocks are shattered before him.” Nahum 1:2-6

Human Sacrifice
God likes the aroma of burnt flesh and command us to burn animal and children.

The Lord said “Consecrate to me every first-born that opens the womb among Israelites, both man and beast, for it belongs to me.” Exodus 13:2

Murder in the Bible
fortune-tellers, homosexuals, cursing parents, hitting dad, adultery, fornication. If one don’t listen to priests one should die. One should also kill brats, son of sinners, the curious ones and so on.. the list is long.

“If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.” Leviticus 20:13

Rape in the Bible
For me rape is one of the most heinous crimes, yet the bible often condense and even approves it.

”If a man happens to meet a virgin who is not pledged to be married and rapes her and they are discovered, he shall pay the girl’s father fifty shekels of silver. He must marry the girl, for he has violated her. He can never divorce her as long as he lives.” Deuteronomy 22:28-29

Slavery in the Bible
Clearly the bible also approves with slavery, also this one of the most immoral things one can imagine.

”All who are under the yoke of slavery should consider their masters worthy of full respect, so that God’s name and our teaching may not be slandered. Those who have believing masters are not to show less respect for them because they are brothers. Instead, they are to serve them even better, because those who benefit from their service are believers, and dear to them. These are the things you are to teach and urge on them.” 1 Timothy 6:1-2

“Okay, there are some evil writings but it is from the Old Testaments” maybe some christians would say. Yeah, except for the last verse about slavery most of the writings is from the Old Testaments. But that is just a bad argument. Christians are manipulating the scriptures so that they can assign a kinder nature to their God, but here is (again) one verse (can give you more) which clearly show that the Old Testament is not to be ignored.

”Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.”– Matthew 5:17-18

So what do we get from this? For me this shows that God is intentionally is causing harm, destruction and are deliberately violating moral codes. Isn’t that evil?

Satan is good.

This is a hard to prove, since there only is God’s word to trust, but from what I’ve seen that isn’t worth much. And using some logical sense and reading from the bible one can make it clear that he is good, or not evil.

Satan gave knowledge to humanity by giving Adam and Eve the fruit from the forbidden tree. Because of Satan, humanity gained knowledge of good and evil. So, this is a thinker; Could Adam and Eve have knowledge of good and evil before eating the fruit? No, Adam and Eve couldn’t have known that eating the fruit was evil since they didn’t have the knowledge of good and evil. So for me it seems a little harsh to punish them as severely as God did. Satan gave humans true capacity for moral judgment, unlike God, who simply expected everyone to mindlessly obey his orders. There is also no biblical record of Satan engaging in the murder of torture of any human being, unlike God, who is guilty (and proudly guilty) of committing genocide. And there is no biblical record of Satan ever ordering someone to kill someone else, unlike God, who has repeatedly demanded the deaths of those who commit even the smallest of offenses as you can read above.

Is God Dead?

The more I study religion the more amazed I become with it. Recently I wanted to search for facts; what country is the most atheistic in the world? My findings were a surprise. Up to 85% of the Swedes does not believe in a God, this is the opposite to USA where about 3-9% is non-believers, atheists or agnostics.

Toplist

1. Sweden (up to 85% non-believer, atheist, agnostic)
2. Vietnam
3. Denmark
4. Norway
5. Japan
6. Czech Republic
7. Finland
8. France
9. South Korea
10. Estonia (up to 49% non-believer, atheist, agnostic)

Now, how come that 7 of 10 countries in the top list are European? I think that the education and health is very good in this countries. Science has done very much for this countries and people don’t need religion any more. It is like with Santa Claus, when you reach third grade you don’t believe in him anymore. Maybe it is so with God too?

We can see that in the developing countries like Uganda, Algeria, Benin, Botswana, Burkina, Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Chad etc there is less than 1% non-believers. Maybe people in the Europe see that it works without God, people don’t need to rely on him anymore. But I don’t know why it is that Europeans is more non-believers than the rest of the world, I just have my theories.

My question stands; Is God Dead?

Everywhere I look, searching on google, watching movies at YouTube, reading on different forums I always find something about 2012 and the end of this world. So what do we get of this? Some people are frighten by this thought that the world would end in 2012, some doesn’t believe it and some say that it is the end as we know it, a change not an actual Armageddon. Most of the time it is mentioned about the Mayan calendar and the ending of it in december 21, 2012. But there is more predictions about the end of the world than the Mayans. And I thought I would provide some of those Ideas. But because of the amount of information I will now write short about every prediction and search and go deeply into every one of these predictions.

So what predictions is there in different culture and religions of the world?

The Mayans

The Mayan calendar is a time-counting system created by the Mayans. The Mayan Empire was a culture that stretched from Central America from what is now Mexico to Guatemala, Belize, western Honduras and El Salvador. They were extremely good at astronomy and time counting.  And some of their calendars were based on astronomy, while others were based on spiritual faith and divine energies. The calendars are different time cycles within cycles, and together form a larger time plan. For example: The most prominent of these calendars were called Tzolkin. (Which means “counting days” on yucatecmaya language). It counts days in thirteen 20-day weeks. Today is this calendar used in Guatemala by the Quiché Mayans, which has preserved over 2500 years. Tzolkin were sometimes combined with another calendar named Haab. When combined you got a longer calendar with a round of 52 solar years. In that way you got a longer calendar wich some call the “long count”. It has become known that the “long count” calendar ends in December 21, 2012. And it was this calendar the Mayans used to follow the big events. It consists of 13 periods of 394.3 ordinary solar years. Archaeologists calculate that the long count began in August 11, 3114 BC. If we from counting until 13 calendar periods, as we reach the ending 2012 on 21 December.

Egyptian Orion Prophecy

It’s not that the Egyptians predicted the end of this world, but according to their writings, a global catastrophe occurred that nearly wiped out humanity. Just as the Mayans, the ancient Egyptians were master astronomers.  Watching and charting the skies for phenomena that would foretell impending events was important and accepted way of life. An astronomical sign appeared to the Egyptians in the year 9792B.C., that caused them great concern.  The celestial event was the retrograde motion of the planet Venus through the constellation Orion.  What is important to note is that there are only two dates when Venus will be in retrograde through Orion while the earth’s pole precession is the same; 9792B.C and 2012A.D.! Orion had incredible significance for the Egyptians in that Orion represented Osiris in the sky.  During 9792B.C. and with Venus in retrograde, an “event” occurred that caused “… the sun to rise at a new horizon.”  Disturbingly, the text goes on to say that “The sun moved from his wonted course, twice rising where it now sets and twice setting where it now rises.” , and “The Old Lion turned around.”

Hopi Indians

The Hopi prophecy is an oral tradition of stories that Hopi says to have predicted the coming of the white man, the world wars and nuclear weapons. And it predicts that time will end when humanity emerges into the “fifth world”. According to the Hopi mythology the current world we inhabit is the “Fourth World.” In this systems, time is cyclical, and the end of one world is the beginning of the next. For the Hopi, the end of the fourth world is marked by the arrival of Pahana, or the lost “White Brother.” from the stars.

Sumerian Tablets

It is very hard to translate the Sumerian language because of its extinction. But some of the text has been revealed and predicts a catastrophe in the year of 2012. So far, the much that has been derived from countless hours of anthropology and linguistic suggest that a planet that is beyond Pluto, called Nibiru will reach the solar system by 2012. The planet is only seen every 3600 years, which explains why there are not too many details about it. Simply put 3600 years is a very long, long time, and back when it made an appearance (if it did) not much was recorded, and thus not much is known. However, skeptics, and firm believers tend to accept the fate inscribed upon the Sumerian tablets depicting 2012 as the end of the world.

Bible Prophecy

The Bible is filled with prophetic statements about the end of this world, and perhaps the Book of Revelation is most know. It is mentioned about plagues, earthquakes hailstorms, fires, famine, meteor storm lack of drinking water and so on. The book of Daniel and Ezekiel contains many prophecies as well.  It all has to do with the battle between good and evil, the sides people pick and the ultimate fate of their choices.

Bible/Torah Code

Torah Codes are equally spaced letters forming meaningful words and phrases in the original Hebrew Bible, the Torah. The topic was discussed in the Middle Ages by leading Kabbalists. It was computerized in the late 1970’s by Professor Eliyahu Rips. The Torah Codes are clear that the end of the Mayan calendar in 2012 has some significance in regards to apocalyptic events. There is a large, stone-like comet or planet due to approach the Earth around 2012.

Planet X/Nibiru

Nibiru is the planet in the ancient Sumerian culture in which their Gods who they called Annunaki came from. The Sumerians knew of every planet in our solar system, they knew their colour, about their moons and they even mentioned that Mars had water wich is interesting because we are just now starting to discover this. Everything they knew they said was taught by the Annunaki. They say that Nibiru comes to our solar system every 3600 year due to its long elliptical orbit. Astronomers are today searching for this Planet X but are saying that they havent found it yet.

Nostradamus

Michael de Nostredame – known as Nostradamus was born on December 14, 1503 in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence in the south of France. He was an occultist that predicted many later world events which really happened. What Nostradamus predicted in the 16th century had actually become true as the years passed by. His predictions about the revolutions in Russia and France; the rise and fall of Adolf Hitler, the German politician and leader of the Nazi party; the pope’s attempted assassination; etc were exact when they happened. Nostradamus predicted that an enormous space collision will happen around the year 2000. If what is said about Nibiru or Planet X is true, then Nostradamus predictions would again be true. Nostradamus also predicted wide disasters and wars around the year 2000.

Edgar Cayce

Edgar Cayce “The Sleeping Prophet” lived from 1877 to 1945 and was an American Psychic. He predicted the polar shift and many other pieces of information about the Earth Changes that are coming with the date of December 21, 2012. He did not speak specifically about 2012, but rather his predictions were supposedly going to happen by the year 1998. His predictions were off and he had the timeline incorrect.

The Super Volcano

Some people speak of super volcanos and there are only a handful of these Super volcanoes. Super volcanic eruptions typically cause a long-lasting change to weather (such as the triggering of a small ice age) sufficient to threaten the extinction of species, and cover huge areas with lava and ash. How this relates to 2012, is the fact that not one super volcano has erupted in the past 74,000 years. Supporters of this theory say that we are long over due in terms of the cycle of these massive beasts. The underwater volcanoes are increasing exponentially. The harmonic tremors are also on a steep rise. A 74,000 year cycle of devastating super volcano nears as we approach 2012. The December 2004 Tsunami epicenter points towards a possible site for the super volcano. According to some geologists, it is possible that the recent Tsunami is precursor to a massive shift in tectonic plates and a super volcanic eruption in that area dwarfing what happened even 74,000 years back.

Scientists

The scientists are trying to calm down the mass hysteria about 2012, but in March 10th 2012 NASA warns about Solar Storms in 2012.

“It’s official: Solar minimum has arrived. Sunspots have all but vanished. Solar flares are nonexistent. The sun is utterly quiet. Like the quiet before a storm…

Solar physicist David Hathaway of the National Space Science & Technology Center (NSSTC) says to have confidence in the conveyor belt model and agrees with Dikpati that the next solar maximum should be a doozy. But he disagrees with one point. Dikpati’s forecast puts Solar Max at 2012.”

Similar storms back in 1859 and 1921 caused worldwide chaos, wiping out telegraph wires on a massive scale. The 2012 storm has the potential to be even more disruptive.

There is more predictions about the “doomsday” and perhaps I will write about it in the future. But for now I will only write about this different aspects about 2012. Dont forget that I will dive deeply into these subjects later on.
