I’m now going to really focus on my weight loss. I have been walking between 30 minutes to about an hour now and then and I’m following a paleodiet which has worked well so far. Since the spring I have lost 39.5 pounds which for me is a big success. But I want to lose more weight and not lose too much muscles. So I will vary the cardio with the heavy weight lifting. The goal is 198 lbs and im now at 243.1 lbs which makes it a wanted loss of 45.1 pounds more. The goal is to be there by the beginning of the summer.

Short About Paleodiet

Food

I will continue with the paleodiet due to the great change with my health and the weightloss it has given me so far. For example I will eat:

  • Fish – Cod, Herring, Salmon, Trout, Tuna etc.
  • Wild Meat – Elk, Reindeer, Goose, Duck, Wild Boar etc
  • Organ Meats – Lamb, Pork and Chicken: livers, tounges, marrow etc
  • Lean Meats – Pork chops & lean, Lean Beef, Flank Steak etc
  • Fruit – Apple, Avocado, Lemon, Lime, Pears, Mango, Grapes etc
  • Vegetables – Cabbage, Carrots, Mushrooms, Onions, Pumpkin etc
  • Nuts & Seeds – Cashews, Hazelnuts, Pecans, Walnuts etc.

I will try to avoid grains and sweets and dairy foods as much as it takes, but I think that once a month I will allow myself to eat unhealthy such as pizza, hamburgers, kebab, chips, coca cola and sweets. I think it’s not good to be too strict with the food, cause I’ll be tempted and think it’s boring after a while, and that’s not good.

Training

I will add another 45 minutes crosstrainer 2 times/week outside the walking and I will also try to add strength exercises so I train 3-4 times/week, for example:

  • Monday: Rest
  • Tuesday: Back/Shoulders/Biceps
  • Wednesday: Cardio/Legs
  • Thursday: Rest
  • Friday: Chest/Triceps/Abs
  • Saturday: Rest
  • Sunday: Cardio/Traps/Neck

In the beginning I will do 1×20 reps for 1 more week as I did the last week. Then I will go over to 2×12-15 reps for 2 weeks. This two different schemes is just to get back and use the muscles with the training. Then I will focus on little heavier weights. 3×8 reps varied with 4×6 reps will do fine. What exercises I will do will be posted then.

Working Out Starts Now!

Was working out yesterday evening for the first time after a long break. It felt good to be back in business. I have been taking some long walks from time to time, but the weather is getting colder and have not yet packed up my winter clothes, so this is a great thing to mix with. And I will keep this up and vary walking from the working out.

Anyway, I woke up this morning with great aches from the exercises which I love! Now I really feel that my body is doing something real and that is just good.

I started out with 10 minutes on the crosstrainer for some warming up. Then I did the weight and machine exercises. I did 1×20 in each exercise, I want to get all muscles going before I start with the real workout.

The exercises I did was;

After between 1,5-2 hours I finished with 30 minutes crosstrainer and stretching after that. Puh, that’s was a long workout since it was the first for about three years.

Next time I will report my current size and weight together with more specifics about how I will train and so on… You’ll see!

I’ve had for a couple of years now lower back pain which returns now and then. I believe it is because that I have been sitting down to much and for a long time. The problems began shortly after that my interest of computers and web design came. I sat in school and when I came home I sat with the computer. Then I had a great time with no pain when I worked out, played soccer and in the military service it was not there aswell. But after the military service I started with an office job as a telephone salesman and worked with it for 4 years. And I came home and sat with my computer making websites. So my back problem came back again. But for some time now I have done some exercises which has been really good for my lower back. And I will keep doing them until it is gone and I can get out more. I am still little lazy after seven months of doing nothing really. Anyway here is the video and temporary cure for my back pain. Maybe it can do some good for you aswell?

Into My Work

I am totally engrossed in my work. I’ve written about 3000 words today and it keeps coming which feels great. I think this may be the first book I’ll publish. I don’t want to uncover to much of the work, but it contains some religious fiction and a little bit of horror. I think that the horror part is the weakest wich makes it interesting to see when it comes to reading the first edition. But it is a lot of writing and editing to do. Then I want to do my own cover for the book, or at least the idea of it. Maybe in about six or seven months I will send it to a publisher. I am nervous…

To flee from society

I’ve had enough of this materialistic society. I’m planning a trip into the wilderness for a month or so. Live like the cavemen did and gather, fish and hunt food for my own survival. I think it will be good for me. And I will only bring the necessary things like fishing rod, maybe rifle (but need licence first), axe for logs to fire and to build a place to live. Maybe a book on nature foods with picture too. And the only electronic thing I will bring is a cellphone for emergency calls (if I need to) and a camera for documentation. I think I will do this in february or march and who ever want to join im open, it’s not people I want to get away from, it’s the materialistic world.

Back to the stone-age

Hi,
This topic is about health and diet. What do I consider the best method to lose weight, and what experience do I have?

Background:
I have for most parts of my life felt like an outsider. It can be for that reason that I was depressed for a very long time. But most of the time I was a normal child with normal interests. I found a very good friend and we played soccer in the same team and later on we started training at a gym. I loved it very much and I was during that time eating healthy and became more and more happy. But then I had an accident and got a wrist tendon injury wich pretty much took me away from lifting weights. Sure I could run and continue with the cardio training, but it was the heavy weight workout that I loved. So I lost the motivation and stopped training. But stupid as I was I continued eating the same amount of food as when I used to train. At that time I didn’t do anything at all. I watched tv or played games on my computer. I went from working out seven times a week to no training at all. So I gained weight, a lot of weight. When I read my training journal I see that my weight at the time for the accident was 86 kg (189 lbs) with about 7% body-fat. After six months my weight was 127 kg (279 lbs), and im sure that I lost some muscular weight to wich makes it even worse. I became depressed and even if I tried to lose weight I was never under  115 kg (253 lbs). I tried many different types of diet methods, but it didn’t work.

The diet:

As you might understand I was unhappy with my lack of motivation and I was unhappy with my weight – after all I was quiet healthy and muscular before. What I found was when researching animism and shamanism and I read about people who tried this working but not so easy way to lose weight. I thought that I can’t expect the fat to drop too easy so I accepted the effort I had to make. The diet is called Paleolithic Diet wich basically means that you eat food consumed during the paleolithic age or stone age if you prefer. The idea is that we modern humans are genetically adapted to the diet the “cavemen” consumed. This diet is based on wild plants and animals and consists mainly of meat, fish, roots, herbs, nuts, vegetables and fruit. And I can see a truth in this as ive seen that people tend to develop allergies to dairy products and grains. I can also see that people who are fat often consumes a big amount of sugar, salt and processed oils wich are excluded in the “paleodiet”. We are not built to eat this types of food wich are very common in the western society and that’s why I believe in this diet.

The result:
Now, I have not adjusted fully to this diet, but I take it step by step. I eat more meat and fish, I sometimes use vegetables instead of pasta, I eat more eggs and add linseed in different dishes and so on. And as I wrote before was my top weight 127 kg (279 lbs) and when I started with this diet four weeks ago I was weighting about 119 kg (262 lbs). My current weight is about 110 kg (242) so it has worked well. Now if I add some condition exercise as I have done in form of walks the latest two weeks I will hopefully speed up the weight loss. I will give you feedback about it once a month (as this is not the main topic of the blog) and I will now and then write about different dishes that I cook and I think tastes good.

It is my schizophrenia…

Hi,

I would start with a reading recommendation. This book may be the best I’ve ever read.

The Talisman (Stephen King and Peter Straub)

Twelve-year-old Jack Sawyer embarks on an epic quest-a walk from the seacoast of New Hampshire to the California coast-to  find the talisman that will save his dying mother’s life. Jack’s journey takes him into the Territories, a parallel medieval universe, where most people from his own universe have analogs called “twinners.” The queen of the Territories, Jack’s mother’s twinner, is also dying.

Anyway, im sitting here 04:26 AM (swedish time) and are totally into my writing. I started to write a book some time ago wich is very fun. But it take a lot to finish it. I started with it for fun. I believed that I had a fun and unique idea and I still think it is, I just need to focus and not stop with it. I love writing, and the main reason for this blog is to learn english better so I can write poems and books in english instead of swedish. I am not a good english writer at the moment,  there can be words misplaced or the grammar is bad. But I do this to learn and learning happens everyday. So im writing the book in swedish first, but im sure that I will translate it when im a little better in english.

And now you may wonder what it is about? Well, I can tell you that it will be a story containing both religion, history and fiction. It is about the end of this world, religious unions, failure and success.  But first of all, you will hopefully feel excitement, romance and emotions when you read it. But as it is now, I have only started as I said, and it will probably take some more time to finish it. And that depends on how much time I spend on the writing.

With that said I am going back to my friends and enemies in my schizophrenic world of letters and words.
